Miniature Hexapods / Miniature High Precision Hexapod 6- Axis Stages with Electromagnetic Motors and Precision Screw Drives

Although palm-sized BLDC motor hexapods are also available, Q-Motion® piezomotor stages are the smallest devices enabling motion in six degrees of freedom.

The importance of motion in a specific axis for an application determines the kinematic design that is used. The traditional parallel-kinematic hexapod configuration yields the best overall homogeneity of performance. When somewhat considerable linear motion is required, low-profile designs are chosen.

Hexapods with PI's patented PICMA® or PiezoWalk® driving technology work best in nonmagnetic and ultra-high vacuum settings.

The H-811 high precision tiny hexapod strikes the ideal combination between performance, load, and compactness. It has numerous uses in micro-assembly and silicon photonics alignment. A high-dynamics version is also available for image stabilization. There is also a 10-6 hPa vacuum-compatible variant available. Similar, but with a lower base plate diameter, is the H-810.
